  • Legal Age and Criminal Record: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a clean criminal record. No irrevocable convictions for serious crimes should have been recorded in the last decade.

  • Residency-  Proof of legal residency in Greece for:

  • At least seven consecutive years under general rules.

  • Five years if residency was established by March 24, 2010.

  • Three years for EU nationals, those married to Greek citizens, parents with Greek children, or recognized refugees and stateless individuals.

  • Valid Residence Permit: Holding a valid Greek residence permit is essential for the application. Permits considered include long-term residence permits, certificates for EU/EFTA nationals, residence permits for family members of Greek or EU citizens, and certificates of recognized refugee or subsidiary protection status.
